Fresher’s Day

The eagerly awaited Fresher’s Day programme at Manovikas English Medium School took
place on the 5th of July, 2024, in the New Hall, ISC Block. “Celestial Space,” was the
theme for the event, it added a touch of the cosmic to the celebrations. The event was
attended by new students, seniors, teachers, and the school administration, all eager to
welcome the newcomers.
The programme commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the
dispelling of ignorance and the dawn of knowledge. This auspicious start was followed by a
warm welcome speech by a student of Class 12, which set the tone for the rest of the event.
For the cake-cutting ceremony, the Freshers, accompanied by their Class Teachers and the
Principal, cut a beautifully decorated cake, marking the beginning of their academic journey
in our ISC section.
Our respected Principal, Mrs. Maria Norman, delivered the welcome address and encouraged
the Freshers to enjoy their time at our institution. The Principal emphasized the importance of
having a good learning experience and wished all the students the very best in their academic
journey. Following the Principal’s address, our respected Director, Mrs. Maya Lin Noronha,
congratulated the students on their previous achievements and welcomed them to the next
phase of their educational journey. The Director emphasized the importance of utilizing all
the amenities available to them and wished them a lovely time ahead.
The welcome song was a fusion of “Happy” by Pharrell Williams and “Kolaveri Di” by
Dhanush, which captivated the audience with its unique blend of upbeat and catchy tunes.
This performance was met with loud cheers and applause, celebrating the creativity and skills
of our students.
The fun and excitement continued with a game of Musical Chairs, which saw enthusiastic
participation from the Freshers. The game was well-received and brought out the competitive
spirit among the students.
A highlight of the programme was the Talent Show by the 11th graders, who showcased their
exceptional dancing abilities. This segment was met with loud cheers and applause from the
audience.
One of the most anticipated moments of the day was the crowning of Master and Miss
Galaxy. The titles were awarded to Master Manthan Salgani and Miss Blaine Rebello, who
impressed the judges with their charisma, talent, and overall performance throughout the day.
The event concluded with a profound Vote of Thanks, delivered by Miss Giovanna and
Master Manthan of Class 11, expressing gratitude to everyone who contributed to making the
day a success. The programme ended on a high note with the school song, uniting everyone
in a spirit of school pride and togetherness.
The Fresher’s Day programme was expertly coordinated by the Students of Class 12, with
invaluable assistance from the teaching and non-teaching staff. The meticulous planning and
flawless execution ensured that the event was a memorable one, leaving the Freshers feeling
warmly welcomed and eager to embark on their academic journey at our school.
